About David
David is the Director of Energy & Engineering in Facilities Services and is UC Riverside’s Campus Energy Manager. He joined the Facilities Services department in January 2019 and was tasked to develop an energy program and lead efforts for energy efficiency for UC Riverside. David holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UC Riverside along with an M.S. in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Power Systems from Cal State Los Angeles. He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of California, Certified Energy Manager from the Association of Energy Engineers and a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) from the U.S. Green Building Council. David also holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from Cal State Fullerton.
David holds many years of industry experience in energy management, energy efficiency, sustainability, utilities, power distribution and controls & automation. David's vision lies in creating, innovating and modernizing institutions along with engineering systems and infrastructure while engaging others through enthusiasm, compassion, trust, and transparency. With David’s passion in engineering and energy, he believes that using engineering fundamentals is a strong and necessary tool in implementing today’s sustainability initiatives while looking ahead into the future and tackling tomorrow’s climate change challenges. David’s mission is to create a smart, resilient, energy efficient and sustainable campus for all.
