Streamlining project request process

As part of the new process, a project management team will review and prioritize requests based on availability of resources, scheduling, and the complexity of the requests. A new form and submission process will be launched soon.

Changes to Project Process

In order to support the campus’ increasing project needs and improve our campus spaces for faculty, students, and staff, Facilities Services will be making a change to its project process.

Event and move requests

Requests must be placed 14 days in advance for events and moves and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Due to limited staffing, Facilities Services needs this minimum lead time to review and respond. What to expect as buildings reopen

Starting Aug. 16, Facilities Services will begin unlocking and locking buildings at their normal operating hours as the campus prepares for the return of more in-person work and instruction this fall. Campus buildings had been locked and accessible only by those authorized to work there over the last 17 months.

UCR creates new COVID cleaning crew

UC Riverside has created a new team of Facilities Services employees specializing in cleaning campus areas that have potentially been exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19. The team, made up of 15 custodial and housekeeping employees who volunteered for the task, attended training sessions starting in January, completing the last one in early March.
